27 IPCEI projects (Important Projects of Common European Interest) are to receive special funding in northern Germany.
This means that almost half of all hydrogen projects to receive financial support from the European Union in Germany in the coming year will come from the five federal states of Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein. During the last legislative period, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and the Federal Ministry of Transport had selected 62 large-scale hydrogen projects to receive government funding as part of a joint European hydrogen project (IPCEI - Important Projects of Common European Interest). The total investment volume amounts to 7 billion euros.
